COMPUTER SCIENCE

Computer science dept. was opened in 2018 with a sanctioned strength of 32 students. The opening of this hons. in 2018 marked one step ahead in the academic of the college to build up computer literacy among the students.
The regional director of education, Sambalpur granted permission for opening of hons in comp. sc. in +3 stream in self financing mode from 2018–19.
There were 24 number of students in the 1st batch. Smt. Pranati Panda shouldered the responsibility of teaching computer course to the students with other faculty members.
Initially the dept. was confined to a room with 20 computers for practical classes. In 2024 it was shifted to the new building with a well furnished lab.

The vision of computer science dept. typically aims to be a leader in technical education, innovative research & industry-ready professionals. It focuses on advanced technology through research, promoting entrepreneurship & addressing societal needs.
It describes its long-term aspirations. It sets high level goals. This can enable machines to interpret & react to visual data, providing high-quality education by building a strong foundation in core comp. sc. principles & emerging technologies. Developing a culture of research that leads to new technologies, innovative solutions.
Mission
The mission of comp. sc. dept. is to uplift the students through technical education. Respond to local & societal needs by developing selected targeted research projects. Quality education is based on modern technology.

Computer science dept. students consistently achieve high placement rates with good packages. They excel in national/global coding competitions like TCS CodeVita, Blockchain, AI.
Key achievements also include developing some of our students have built their own startup app and also mentoring & developing their websites.
Some of our students are hired by major companies like Cognizant, Wipro, Tech Mahindra & TCS.
In coming days more & more students of comp. sc. dept. are going to involve in global tech market.
