The Department of English, Khariar Autonomous College, Khariar has been playing an important role in shaping the youth of not only Nuapada district but also other parts of Odisha through education. Along with Mr. Prasant Kumar Pand, HoD-cum-Principal, the teachers working in this department are Mr. Meghnada Suna, Mr. Pramod Kumar Jal, Ms. K. Nivedita Acharya, and Mr. Sriram Pomar. The department offers UG program in English Language and Literature.

Department of English will try its best to provide an atmosphere to students for their overall development. It will produce more such students with both academic and extracurricular activities opportunities to learn and grow. 

Many students of Department of English has been employed in different reputed institutions. Many of these recently passed out students have even taken admission in both in State and Central  Universities for their higher studies.
