HINDI

The Department of Hindi was established in 1977, the same year when the College introduced +2 (Higher Secondary) and +3 (Undergraduate Degree) courses in Hindi. Since its inception, the Department has been committed to promoting Hindi language and literature in the region and contributing to academic and cultural development. In the year 2012 Honours in Hindi was introduce. In the year 2019 Post Graduation in Hindi was opened. Heads of the Department

 Sanctioned Post and Early Leadership
• The first sanctioned post of the Department was held by Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma, who played a pivotal role in laying the foundation of the Department.
• In 1995, Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahi joined the Department in a leave vacancy and served until 1996.
• Dr. Sharma continued his service for one more year thereafter, strengthening the academic structure of the Department.
Faculty Appointments and Development
• 1998 – Appointment of Purusottam Singh  Thakur.
• 05 August 1999 – Appointment of Mr. Bishnu Dev Singh Mallick.
• 2005 – After the demise of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sharma, Mr. Bishnu Dev Singh Mallick assumed charge as Head of the Department.
• 2011 – Mr. Bishnu Dev Singh Mallick was awarded the Ph.D. degree.
• 2010 – Appointment of Smt. Santoshi Sharma.
• 2010 – Appointment of Smt. Sila Trivedi.
• 2016 – Appointment of Mr. Subhransis Barik.
• 2019 – Appointment of Mr. Govind Naik and Mr. Jawahar Ranjan Panda.
• 2022- Mr. Subhransis Barik was awarded the Ph.D. Degree
• 2026- Mr. Jawahar Ranjan Panda is awarded the Ph. D. Degree.
•The Department is academically strong, with three out of its five faculty members holding Ph.D. degrees, reflecting its commitment to quality teaching and research.
