1. Mr. Subhendu Ranjan Nial (Head of the Department)

Mr. Subhendu Ranjan Nial, the Head of the Department of Zoology at Khariar (Autonomous) College, is a dedicated academician with a strong foundation in biological sciences.

He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Zoology and has qualified the prestigious CSIR-NET with both Lectureship (LS) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), reflecting his academic excellence and research aptitude.

He was also a PhD scholar at University of Hyderabad during the session 2021-22, doing research in the discipline of Molecular Biology before joining Khariar (Autonomous) College, Khariar.

His areas of specialization include Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Developmental Biology, Cell Biology, Ecology, and Animal Physiology. With a multidisciplinary approach, he integrates core biological concepts with modern scientific advancements in his teaching.

As the Head of the Department, Mr. Nial plays a pivotal role in academic planning, curriculum development, and mentoring students. 2. Mrs. Naina Pradhan

Mrs. Naina Pradhan is a dedicated Lecturer in Zoology with a strong academic foundation, holding an M.Sc. degree. She specializes in key areas of modern biological sciences, including Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, and Developmental Biology.

She is committed to fostering a deep understanding of complex biological processes among students through a structured and engaging approach. 3. Miss Saraswati Mahanand

Miss Saraswati Mahanand is serving as a Lecturer in Zoology at Khariar (Autonomous) College, Khariar. She holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Zoology and has successfully qualified the CSIR-NET examination in June 2024, demonstrating her strong academic competence and research aptitude.

Her areas of specialization include Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology, reflecting a solid foundation in both fundamental and advanced biological sciences.

She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree for the academic session 2025–2027, further enhancing her pedagogical skills and commitment to effective teaching practices.

4. Mr. Saswat Kumar Dash (Demonstrator in Zoology)

Mr. Saswat Kumar Dash is serving as a Demonstrator in the Department of Zoology at Khariar Autonomous College, Khariar. He holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), and is currently pursuing his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Zoology, reflecting his commitment to continuous academic growth and subject expertise.

In his role as a Demonstrator, he is primarily responsible for conducting practical classes, where he assists students in understanding experimental procedures and laboratory techniques in Zoology. He plays a vital role in bridging theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning, thereby enhancing students’ practical skills and scientific approach
